1972
The beggining
Garibaldi® has been manufacturing garments, gloves and accessories for motorbikers since 1972. It started its own business into the spare-part car market under the brand name of Pedro Guillamet, importing the most representative italian brands.
At a second stage Garibaldi´s founders, Josep Maria Guillamet and Isabel Garibaldi, drifted their main product business to enter the motorbike market, which had huge potential and set up the company Guillamet Garibaldi.

Garibaldi®
In 1975 they changed its name to Garibaldi®. In those early times the company mainly produced rider leather suits and greasing garments in its workshop in Vilanova del Camí (Igualada)
They launched the Internazionale jacket which represented a first great hit. The second best-seller arrived later with the so-called Original, the first Spanish wax jacket for motorbikers.

In the 80’s Garibaldi puts its efforts on the handmade competition leather suits and signs up the best riders of the moment.
At that time most riders in Spain had their first leather suit made by Isabel Garibaldi, who was the soul of the company.

Having free access to a handmade leather suit was an opportunity to start riding. She was a beloved person for all riders. We'd like to share Domingo Gil's thought of her today.
1990s
The riders
Since 1980 and up to three decades Garibaldi® signed up the best riders of that time such as Ricardo Tormo, Sito Pons, Aspar, Alex Crivillé, Alex Barros, Carlos Checa, Sete Gibernau, Toni Elias, Dani Pedrosa, Jordi Tarrés, Marc Colomer, Carlos Mas, David Checa, B. Grau, D. Gil and P.Voltà, the former still being a faithful collaborator today. Most of them became World Champions with Garibaldi: 18 World Champion titles are the final result of this successful period .
2019
The new adventure
They also became the exclusive distributor in Spain for the italian helmet manufacturer Nolangroup and finally also held a meaningful partnership of the group. It was an intense relationship that lasted for more than 40 years until late 2019, just before the Covid outbreak, when it was time to let go and build up an own range of helmets with the brand Gari, diminutive of Garibaldi, on the basis of this long-lasting experience.

The first open-face collection came in the summer of 2020.
The full-faces and flip-ups joined throughout 2021. The latter are all provided with Pinlock® and an ample space for the Bluetooth system.

The ¨Plis Plas¨ innovation
"Plis Plas" knuckle protector, an identifying mark of the glove collection since 2021. It´s a vented protector made of two distinctive parts that provides a glove with an extra ventilation, depending only on the upper part knuckle position (upper parts are interchangeable).
Another upside is the possibility to substitute the upper part with ease in case of it being damaged as well as to have access to endless colour variants with both the lower and upper parts .

At the moment, a cohesive team manages the company. Georgina Guillamet, the founders daughter, took over thelead in 2008. Since then, achieving excellence in all work aspects and fostering a high-quality culture hasalways been her purpose.

Garibaldi has in its logo both the red four-leaf clover, symbol of good luck, faith and love since ancient times and a G, enhanced with a red petal, which is also a portion of the four-leaf clover.
The Gari logo used for helmets is the diminutive of Garibaldi which was thought to be too long for them. We didn ́t want to create a complete different brand and thus just shortened it. It ́s our aim to create value with these 2 related brands, one for garments and the other for helmets.
The slogan Pleased to Protect You simply means we want all motorcycle users to enjoy their passion in total safety. We don ́t promote the use of motorcycle as a luxury item, but rather as a practical and enjoyable means of transport.
